Spinal Decompression in Burlington

Our SpineLOGIK® Spinal Decompression program is a remarkable non-surgical, drug-free procedure for the treatment of back and neck pain resulting from injured or degenerated spinal discs. It works by targeting and gently relieving the pressure on the damaged segment of the spine to ease discomfort and speed up the body’s natural healing process.

Will It Help Me?

When cervical spine injuries occur, pain can shoot out into the shoulders, arms, hands and fingers. Tingling sensations or numbness can also exhibit. Similarly, lumbar injuries can cause sciatic pain in the legs and feet.

Spinal decompression is designed to help patients suffering with pain from bulging discs, herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, post-surgical issues, spinal stenosis, and generalized low back or neck pain. All patients must undergo an extensive health history and examination with Dr. Obeid to determine if the therapy will be beneficial.

How Does It Work?

Damaged intervertebral discs seldom heal because they remain under constant pressure, even while at rest. At The Healing Path Chiropractic and Wellness Centre, we use a specially designed traction table to release tension between the vertebrae. It is approved by both Health Canada and the FDA.

Using computer technology, it slowly applies traction to the affected area, gently separating or distracting the injured spinal segments. Proper spacing is restored, allowing the disc to settle back into its normal position.

Once pressure on the disc is relieved, it allows fluids, nutrients, and oxygen to flow back into the disc. This nutrient exchange helps the body’s natural rebuilding process, accelerates repair, and eventually heals damaged spinal discs.

Also, reducing intradiscal pressures may help draw the nucleus of the herniated disc back into the center, relieving pressure on the compressed nerve root, to alleviate pain or numbness. Patients usually don’t feel anything until the treatment is done. Most notice a decrease in discomfort and increased range of motion, and find the process comfortable and relaxing.

When you return for your second visit the doctor will present his full report of findings and go over a treatment plan with you.
