Registered Massage Therapy in Burlington

Massage has been in use for thousands of years. Over time, different variations developed to address specific problems. Manipulating muscles, ligaments and tendons using just the hands and fingers is a time-tested method of relieving stress in the body. RMTs and chiropractors, working together, provide patients with the best outcome possible.

We create a revitalizing experience for each of our clients that begins with the first touch. Our talented and passionate RMTs—Erin, Kellie, Lindsay, Richard, and Meana — are committed to improving the quality of your life with a convenient and relaxing massage in an inviting, comfortable atmosphere.

The health benefits available from this type of bodywork are many, including pain relief, stress reduction, help for nerve related issues, headaches/migraines, and muscle tightness, and care for sports injuries. It may also help increase circulation, boost immunity, reduce anxiety, and improve the condition of your skin.

Our Techniques

Our therapists may use various techniques to provide you with the best outcome. These may include:

  • Relaxation Massage—a uniquely relaxing therapeutic massage flexible enough to accommodate your individual needs. It combines many techniques designed to soothe and recharge you. Relaxation never felt so invigorating!
  • Deep Tissue Massage—focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep pressure on the contracted areas.
  • Sports Massage—focuses on the muscles relevant to your particular athletic activity. May enhance pre and post events, improve flexibility, prevent injuries, and prepare athletes to compete at their best.
  • Trigger Point Massage—these areas of tenderness or “knots” often refer pain to other parts of the body. Our therapist applies gentle but firm pressure directly to these points and massages the surrounding areas to customize your massage and release the muscle.
  • Prenatal Massage—this technique is tailored to the needs of pregnant women and their changing bodies. Massage during pregnancy helps ease stress on the back, neck, shoulders, and abdominal muscles. It also promotes relaxation, reduces anxiety, and supplements your total prenatal care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can massage therapy help a certain condition, such as a pinched nerve, sciatica, or lower back pain?
Yes. It’s part of the treatment plan that we prescribed to alleviate these and other conditions.

Is there anything I should do to prepare for my session?

No, but it’s a good idea to hydrate before and after your massage.

Do I need to see a chiropractor first to get a massage at the practice?

No.

Do the RMTs use scented oils during a session?

Our office is scent-free, so we don’t use any oils with fragrance. That is unless the patient requests a specific oil that they bring in with them. The therapist will accommodate the request, but otherwise, the practice is scent-free.
Will I be sore after my session?
It depends on what type of bodywork you’re receiving. For example, if you’re getting a deep tissue massage for any injury site, you may be sore. That’s because we’re breaking apart adhesions and lactic acid. But if you’re getting a relaxation type of massage, you shouldn’t be sore afterwards.

Is this therapy covered by insurance?

Yes.

Is this service tax deductible in Canada as a health expense?

Yes.

Is there anything I should do after my appointment to get the full benefits of massage?

We usually provide stretching recommendations, so we will give you a stretching sheet or your therapist will go over specific stretches. Hydrating after a massage is important too. Sometimes we recommend a person get an Epsom salt bath, depending on the severity of the tension found.
